THE CRYSTAL BALL

As part of our annual residency with the Vaults, creating fantasy worlds for the season's festivities, this year we took inspiration from the Grimm Brothers’ 12 Dancing Princess.  We introduced the party loving sisters and their disapproving Dad as a tour guides and whipped up a magical forest of late night entertainment.  Guests entered into the neon pink, underground palace, to be greeted by its gaudy

and beckoned through the folds of dresses in the giant wardrobe. Three forests, one of silver, one of gold, and one of diamonds, created three very different twilight hang outs. There was something for everyone, not to mention the shadow puppet theatre retelling the sisters’ tale, and the hidden swan boating lake...

Beautiful shadow puppet animation made by the mercurial Mr Nick Hayes
